Al 6 Posted May 22, 2005 Hi, There is no CH replacement for KT or M series engines. These engines can sometimes be replaced with CH engines, but NOTHING from the M or KTs can be bolted on. The mufflers etc are not usable. The flywheels where the drives bolt on are metric and metric bolt circles. Kohler service people tell me this is the most common call they get and they keep telling people there is NO DIRECT REPLACEMENT for the KT and M series engines. For example a KT17 engine short block is around 1800 to 1900 and they have a 90 day warranty. The KT and M engine have a 1 yr warranty. Our kit with a CH engine is 2095. and it includes everything you need and complete step by step instructions. The engine is factory new and has a 2 year warranty and will outlast 3 or 4 KTs or Ms. Al Eden
