Brent_Baumer 5 Posted May 23, 2005 The K341 started coughing and puking yesterday after I put it under a very heavy load. I was sure it was not a fuel or ignition problem. Removed the head tonight to find this. Hoping the black streaks on the head and gasket in combo with the loose head bolt on that side indicate the cause of my problem. Gonna clean this up a bit and install a new gasket and find out. Piston and valves seem to go up and down like they should. One thing's for sure, I need to lean it out a little. hdrhdr 0 Posted May 24, 2005 Hey Brent, what is the piece of globe strut clamped to the front of the motor for???? Randy
Brent_Baumer 5 Posted May 24, 2005 Randy, That is the support for the muffler down below....Globe strut, Unistrut, Kindorff - whatever. Comes in handy for more than just mounting disconnects, panels and pipe racks/trapezes. You electricians and plumbers out there know what I'm talking about. Incidentally, replacing the head gasket did not remedy the problem. BUT I noticed lots of gas pouring out of the carb this time. Got a float problem of some sort. Try to get that fixed tonight. After I watch Ken Jennings in round 2 (I shamefully admit). Brent
