Sickle Bar Mowers

Anyone seen anything like this? I saw a sickle mower at the Portland show that the owner said was for an Allis/Simplicity.It had the same knife setup on both sides as this and thought that maybe it was one that had been modified from something else to fit.But after coming across this brouchure I'm not so sure that it had been modified.Athough the one I looked at was a cable lift and belt driven.

Thats the kind used on the 300/400 series AC's and the Homelite T series by AC. They don't cut near as good as the other kind with the cast iron rock gaurds.

I've seen a couple of the hydraulic units sell on eBay. AC also OEM'd Haban sicklebar mowers.

From the parts manuals I have on the 300/400 tractors,the sickle mowers look like the Haban units,not like this one.

We had one that came on a Big Ten we got a few years back. They are made by Didier Manufacturing. Dont know much more than that,Matt
