Walk behind snow blower ID

I hauled home a walk behind Simplicity blower today. It has the white discharge tube with the red S, On the handle sheet metal is a large S with a 4 in it, 23 Inch, 3 or 4 HP briggs, SN 3681. Any idea of year ? modle? value? It runs and works good and the overall gondition is good.8D

There is info on these in the archives.you need to find the model # on it,mine is a 990255,the engine code will tell you the year of the motor.mines a 1962,4hp. and will run circles around my j.deere all day.i would guess the value at around $100.-200,,congatulations on getting a real good machine.

John; I have some of the old parts books for these, if you want to look it up in the manual section here are some of the #s 990296/294/297/295/221/253/254/255/256. the 294-296 are 1964-67 the 221 is 1962 the 253-256 are 1963-64. If these are not the right one I have more, also try the 990426. Levi
