dav Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 I am inspecting and overhauling the hi-lo's from the B1 and the 2110. The 2110 was supposed to be my wife's tractor. It has a complete hi-lo. The B1 was supposed to be a parts machine. The hi-lo is missing the cups that move the shift ring. My wife likes the looks of the B1 better than the 2110 so that's the one I'm fixing. Meanwhile, one of the hi-los is going on my Big Ten. I have a copy of the service manual and the PDF that covers the two speed pulley. There are differences between the two. One has two set screws to hold it on and together; the other has three. The handles and brackets are different. Both have a nut welded to the cover. I'm not sure what the nut is for. One unit has a small bolt in it, the other, nothing. The bolt doesn't hold anything. I thought that maybe a grease zerk went there but the book doesn't mention one(it doesn't mention the bolt at all). It says to grease when reassembling. According to the book, the pulley has a hole to fit an allen wrench thru to get the unit off the shaft. Neither pulley has this hole. Instead, I need a long allen to reach between the pulley and trannie to get the set screws out. So my question is; What is that bolt on the cover for? This week I will call the dealer to find out what bushings and bearings are available.
rokon2813 Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 [:0][:0] Thanks Greg. Mine came with the fitting in it. Wish I'd seen that paragraph BEFORE I ran the tire chains all winter ;);)
Killer_A-C Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 I have never seen a B1 with a hi-lo setup. Could you post a pic of the B1? Thanks ,Matt
