When I go on line to ebay to look at lawn or garden tractors there seems to be always a gazillion craftsman/sears units up for auction.Does anyone know the breakdown for brand sales or at least what part of the market share is craftsman/sears?

Whatever page you are starting on in outdoor, keep following the left columns until you get to riding mowers. Once there the left column will have the breakdown of all manufacturer listings. Some will have subcategories for parts -

Sears is the #1 seller of lawn and garden equipment (I assume that is all equipment from shovels to garden tractors). #2 I believe is MTD. If you combine Simplicity-B&S-Murray into one company it would have to be right up there at maybe #3 or #4.
