ridgerunner Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 When I made my front weight box I used all four holes on the axel-undercarrage mount. I would fight trying to get all four bolts to line up and go through the holes. Bob (mazdamaniac) sent me photos of how a blower hitch mounts (thanks Bob). So I cut off half my bracket and made a hanger style like the blower unit. Now its much easyer to mount and dismount, but it made me wonder what is the front hole on the axle used for? Every thing I've seen uses the rear hole. This is the part that I removed, it was all one piece before changing to the blower-style mount. This is the hole thats in question. And this is the final product waiting for the AC logo to be applied. Thanks in advanced -Paul
Roy Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Nice work. The front holes on the axle are used to mount a front mounted counterweight. Has some other uses also but I cannot remember them.
