Karl_Brandt 6 Posted June 11, 2005 I found this on ebay. Looks like an early AC B-10 tractor with a generator on the hood of the tractor and a electric water pump on the back of the tractor. SmilinSam 3,931 Posted June 11, 2005 Bolting the generator to the hood can be forgiven, but the green and yellow paint....?
bigcountry 0 Posted June 11, 2005 A very "colorful" attempt at making it look like a real Deere......:D
Al 6 Posted June 11, 2005 Hii, Maybe an attempt to be able to sneak up on the Deere's to jump them. (with the gen) You know they paint them green and yellow so they can hide in the grass when a REAL mower goes by. Al Eden

Cast Iron engines and non-stamped front axles sound real enough to me......?
Al 6 Posted June 11, 2005 Hi, I really have nothing against Deeres, The early ones needed 40 acres to turn around and the decks even the new ones are noted to be terrible for caking up with grass. I still don't believe they can touch a Simplicity roller deck for quality of cut. I think they are much harder to work on. I don't dispute they have been quality tractors. BrianP 1 Posted June 13, 2005 There's more to a tractor than cast iron engines and a non-stamped front axle...true enough; how about a mower deck thick enough not to develop stress cracks in front of each spindle? I use my Dad's JD-STX 38 to cut his grass. Last week one of the spindle bolts (the ones that hold the blades on), broke and the blade fell off. That's NEVER happened with my A/C or Siplicity machines. Want more evidence? My Dad's next door neighbor with a huge 300 series Deere with hydro everything stopped me one day do say hi as neighbors do. He wanted to know how I was making my Dad's lawn look so much better than his. I diplomatically said "my machine has a different kind of deck." He thought it was a Jacobsen since it was orange. The guy on ebay must want the best cut possible but not want to get lauged at by his "Deere" friends.
