LesH Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 :( I am helping my brother out on his recent bargain deal at a local estate sale of $35....... He has a Simplicity 4211....the Briggs 11 HP engine runs fine, blades turn, but the hydro does not move the tractor-- the belt turns the pulley and fan at the hydro unit....Does the fluid have to be at the top of the plastic capped cup?? The lever was engaged to the Run position. Maybe it needs new fluid?? Fluid type?? Any suggestions appreciated!!!!
JJ MARSHALL Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 check the pulley underneath on motor crank shalf see if it is loose or has sheared the key that is inside. also check the belts. JJ
Al Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Hi, Oil should be about 3/8 inch up from the bottom in the cup. There is an oil level cold mark. Check the bypass lever again and move it to bypass and engage, make sure it goes all the way. Next look and see if one of the axles is turning. If it is the key has been lost out of the wheel. dads707 Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 Is the axle turning? Look at the wheel and see if it is turning in the hub. The woodruff key might be broken or missing.
