Engine help needed

JimS

Recommended Posts

I have a Tecumseh engine that wants to "kickback" when trying to start it, like the timing is too early. There is no timing adjustment that I know of. If I get it spinning fast enough it will start and run. Any suggestions on what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanks.

I would say that you have a partially sheared flywheel key. Does this model have some kind of a compression release?

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
