beuce 0 Posted June 17, 2005 My new Prestige was delivered yesterday :D! Just in time, mind you, my lawn was out of control!
Michael A 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Nice buy! I have been thinking about getting rid of my New Holland LS45 for one of those.
Wishin2BMowin 0 Posted June 17, 2005 Looks nice but you would think they would have included some hub caps for the wheels? What kind of attachments will it take? I think I'll stick with my 35 year old FDT for now! I hope it lasts as long for you...Best of luck with it...
beuce 0 Posted June 17, 2005 The Prestige will take a tiller, blower, blade to name a few, if you visit the Simplicity home page it lists all the attachments. I am planning on getting a kit so I can attach my old blower and tiller soon. I have 2 FDT's and 1 or I guess 2 RBT's now and as far as drivability the Prestige is a dream in comparison. From what I could tell from my trial cut yesterday, it cuts much better too. Don't get me wrong I love my old tractors, but it was getting to the point that I would spend more time working ON them then working WITH them. I would fix one thing and another thing would go wrong, and working on them in a dirt floored garage with inadequate lighting was getting frustrating. I was having all kinds of bad luck. Hopefully when I build a new house with nice garage things will be different....

ZippoVarga 61 Posted November 25, 2005 JP...to answer your Q about what poor people are doing this year....We're watching the rich spend thousands while we improvise with our older machines and accomplish the same for litle to no money and a little inginuity. IMHO!!! :-D
EricD 0 Posted November 25, 2005 I'm dreaming of being rich. I know one lawnmower that'll be on the "to buy" list. Looks excellent, I'd love to mow with that machine.
beuce 0 Posted November 25, 2005 Sorry but I am not rich, wish I was I would have bought a Legacy XL 4wd with a loader if I were. Or maybe the Prestige and a larger compact Kubota with a loader, but alas my not paid for Prestige will have to sufice. It is not how much money you have in the bank, it is how you choose to spend it and I chose to purchase a new tractor instead of putting money in my older tractors at this time. Chris727 1,934 Posted November 27, 2005 I can't blame you either. Looks like a great tractor. I'll bet the deck is a lot heavier than the old 42" decks. Whenever I see the new Legacy's or prestiges, I get really tempted to get rid of some of the old for a new one. I'd be happy just to have a good reliable hydro to mow with. RayS 79 Posted November 30, 2005 One thing nice about Simplicity they have different payment plans for everyone.
ZippoVarga 61 Posted November 30, 2005 I would love one of those Legacy 4 wheel drives. What's the HP rating of the Prestige? Are the implements as easy to take on and off as with the older models?
RayS 79 Posted December 4, 2005 When I bought my Prestige they were available in 20hp and a 23hp. I think that they are only available in a 23hp now though. I think the deck is easier to take off and put on because there is no pins holding it on.
beuce 0 Posted February 3, 2006 My 50" deck is not so easy to get on and off. The thing ways a ton. I also have a hard time trying to slide it under the machine, there is not a lot of room to spare. I do like that the front wheels on the deck turn sideways to assist sliding the deck under the mower though. I did not have pavement at my old house and have since moved and have a garage with a cement floor, I am going to assume it will be a lot easier now.... My Prestinge in an '04 and is 23hp. Roy 0 Posted February 3, 2006 Nice machine. What is with the wheels on the front of the deck?? Do the decks still mount onto the front axle?
