ReedS 5 Posted June 23, 2005 Between a flat tire on my 2110 and a shredded deck belt on my 63 LL I've been playing with these. The yellow rental is a JCB jz70 and the little red machine is mostly a 700 built up from a pile of spare parts from the shelves. If you look closly you can see a blue dumpster where my neighbors former garage now rests.:p That was project #2. 90 cu yds later and this area is ready for loam. There was a small summer cottage here and the area will now be yard. (when I find a pitcure I'll add it in) I was very impressed with the ability of this little machine (the jcb), a tad bit bouncy but very strong. It took about a day to take the building down and 2 1/2 to clean it up. The flat tire on the 2110 was from a nail. I can't understand where it could of come from. }:) The 700 was an afterthought of the now delayed (temporarily shelved) Lombardini diesel project. It (the diesel) didn't fit into the frame real easily (think I'll try an rbt frame when I find one and the time to do it). This 700 is the barest of bones no electrial system just a pull to start late 50's 7hp B+S except the rear tires are the larger 32x10.5's from a now departed rbt. It'll probably come Orange with me just for grins n giggles. Oh well enogh rambling for now.
HubbardRA 19 Posted June 24, 2005 I want one of those yellow toys! Looks like you could have some fun with it. Believe it or not, my wife wants me to buy a Terramite. I just need to find one with bucket and hoe, before she changes her mind. I mean a used one, not willing to pay full price for a toy to use on flower beds. Nick 0 Posted June 24, 2005 90 Yards of dirt trucked in? WOW! I think that's what we would need to do a lot a leveling in our yard. Nice property too. So exactly what was the reason of taking down the cottage? To far gone, or you wanted a better view? I think if you had that Lombardini in the 700 I think you could have pulled over the cottage or garage no problem.
ReedS 5 Posted June 25, 2005 Nick, that's 90 cu yds of material trucked out. The cottage was in rough condition and it was small. I couldn't burn it due to it's proximity to the other houses and the lake not to mention burning season ended a couple of months ago! I'll be adding on to this house some time in the next few months and now I'll have a larger yard too. I did the finish grading with the 2110 with a mid mount grader blade. The Lombo in the 700 would have been unique but I didn't want to cut it up that much so I'll save it for an rbt and another time.
