3410 Ignition Problem??

My 3410 would start only by turning the key of and on then I was unable to start it at all unless I jumped across the positive post on the soloniod to the adjacent post with the blue wire.I replaced the soloniod with a new one and replaced the ignition switch with a used one and still no luck.Thanks in advance for any help.
