BLT 717 Posted June 25, 2005 Heat and a puller. Concetrate on the pulley hub. At times when you thinks the puller can't take it, is about the time you here a budge. Also, if 11 HP engine is junk, cut off shaft and drive it out with a press or punch and hammer.
Al 6 Posted June 26, 2005 HI, We have a round plate with a slot in it that slides ovet the top of the bottom pulley and lays on the flat part. Then we have a large slide hammer that can pull on the plate. We never use it. We just use an air chisel with a bit that has a semi circular end on it. One person pulls down on the pulley and the other "pounds" on the side of the pulley where the crankshaft is. Rarely more than 30 seconds and the come off. If you put penetrationg oil on rust etc before you use the air hammer, it usually slows things. When the rust it dry it powders and frees things up. If it don't then you have to oil.
