HubbardRA 19 Posted June 29, 2005 Should be a seal on that shaft. I'm not sure if that area is pressurized or just part of the oil reservoir. Never pulled a Sunstrand unit apart, even though I have two of them. You need to look this up in a parts manual to get the seal part number. I don't have access to a manual at this time. May be able to get the part number of the seal when I can get at my manual.
2burning 1 Posted June 29, 2005 www.sepw.com shows part number 2166021 for the seal under the brake drum.
docs 6 Posted June 29, 2005 OK thanks thats the part but that seal is not in stock. Looks like I will have to do some digging. or call them and see if they can order it. I do think it must be pressured because it is leaking the hydro transmission fluid. Thanks for the help. Tom, Docs
Al 6 Posted June 29, 2005 HI, This is in the lower case which is not pressurized. It serves a dual purpose: A: Lube the reduction gears. B: Serve as the reservoir for the Hydro. Al Eden
