I'm putting a 341 in place of a 301 and I need to know what to exspect, if anything as to problems I might run into. Is this an easy change, or am I in for trouble? The only thing I can see so far is the diff. in the muffler input size is much bigger on the 16. What muffler did this tractor use for a 341 or did they ever offer a 341 in a 700/7000 series?

I cant think of any problems off hand. Swapped em around 10-16 myself without much trouble. Just have to have the exaust neck to fit the block to your muffler. Allis had the 716 that used the kohler 341.

the 716H's have 16hP kohlers. They use the same mufflers as the smaller engines, just have a different muffler to block adapter. Othewise the motor is the same. Also, I have the adapter if you need it.

So the drop in exhaust size doesn't bother the flow of exhaust? I guese I'm lucky that the mufflers don't have to be changed. Thanks Graham, I kinda figured I'd here from you on this one.lol

Dave, They are totally interchangeable. Use an exhaust off an AC716. I have a 716H, myself, but I only have a 10 B/S on it. Wanna trade. I made a muffler for my 713S using a Cub Cadet muffler. It works really well. You probably remember the posts. If you want to see the pictures again, let me know. As far as I can tell, the 12, 14, and 16 Hp engines used the same mufflers in the AC 700 series tractors.

I also re-powered from a 301 to a 341 in my AC712S. The only problems I ran in to were the 341 I used had a different oil pan drain location and the dip stick was in a different location on the block. Used the 301 pan and had to raise the engine up about a quarter inch to clear the dip stick tube away from the frame. This was my first major project with my tractor and all went well. Oh, I forgot, the 341 did not have a stator but ran off of a pickup truck electrical system as part of a start all unit. I just used the stator and flywheel off the 301 as well. Good Luck - Dan

Almost All blocks are different, They have dipsitcks in different places, but if one is the same as what youre replacing, it'll bolt right in. Like dan said, the pans will switch.
