tillerman Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I have a good Model 19 Briggs I was thinking about putting in the 64 Landlord and a model 23 briggs that I could put in a 712 Allis. Would they be underpowered? Has anyone ever used a Model 19 in a Landlord? The 23d seems to have enough power to run most anything. Thanks, Richard
HubbardRA Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I have been running a 10 Hp 243431 B/S on my 716H for several years. Even mowed with a 48 inch deck using that engine. Yes, it has less power than a 16, just have to move a little slower with the smaller engine. Still does a fine job.
Roy Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 A 42" deck is all the 7.25 hp Model 19 in my B-1 wants. I would go for more horsepower.
DaveL Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 The model 19 was the engine that was in the 725, last built the year before the 64 Landlord. In fact I picked up a 725 and accessories and swapped a lot of parts. Still have the model 19 on it minus a few parts like the gen bracket, and am planning to e-bay it or garage sale it later this year. I'd say though that it'd depend on your use. never felt the 23D was underpowered for lawn mowing, but as she got older and wheezier I'd agree with Roy.
