dorise Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Does anyone have a brand name and number for the ball bearings in the BGB of a Big Ten? I'm not too happy with my local NAPA. I cross referenced the number from my parts book to that in the sites cross reference section and when I entered it in Jack's Small Engine site there was no bearing found with that number. I checked and rechecked the numbers a couple times. By my book I understand both ball bearings are the same size. Am I right on this? The needle bearing numbers came up OK. Thanks again guys.
RayS Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 There available through your simplicity dealer for around $12.00. The number you need is 118011 for the ball bearing and it is $7.64 on Jack`s website.
gregc Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Doris, Use this manual as a cross reference for your Big Ten: http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_100_3632_00_LL_S.pdf
dhardin Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 I rebuilt my BGB on my lanlord. NAPA had them in stock in the (Black box) Preformer seieries my cost like $5. The Blue box, there standard bearing for like 9 or 10 bucks. But we are very lucky to have a GREAT NAPA store with one or two guys that really know there stuff. If they cant get bearings or engien parts from ther regular NAPA wearhouse disterbution system (witch I get over night) from a three state area, they will order from any number of direct suppliers. If I had my Landlord book from the shop handy I'd give you the NAPA No.s. I try to write them down in my printed copy of the parts manual. A nother thing that might help you to get the right part NO. and its new simplicity No. is to go to Jacks and inter the no. from the parts manual, select the parts/bearings you need and add it to your cart act like your going to buy them. Then it will show you the old No. and the cross reference new No. and there price. There good and I have used them often. But may times I just print out the page and take it to NAPA and boy they love me doing all the work for them, and they love to have not losed the sale to the internet. This is just my experence, it solved a lot hassel and several dollars to. Good luck..
RayS Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Doris, the correct part number through Simplicity is 118011. I reuilt one a few months back and the old bearings in BGB were manufactured by SKF and there part number on the bearing is 6204.
dorise Posted July 14, 2005 Author Posted July 14, 2005 Thanks again guys. My order is in to Jack's Small Engines. Maybe some day I will find all the places to look for stuff at the club site.
Scotmo Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Not sure if you can use them but I have some NEW 6204 2RSJEM SKF bearings (4 of them) I think they are 20mmx47mmx14mm. I have had them for a while in the garage. If you can use them PM me and I will send them to you. No Charge, just use them.Let me know. Scot
johnMI Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 With the number from the bearing race, i.e. 6204, you can go to any "GOOD" auto parts store, and they should have or can get the bearings. It doesn't matter who makes them, the number on the bearing will always be the same. Simplicity or whoever makes a tractor just puts their own part number on them to bring you back for higher priced parts! :-)
