Paul S. 0 Posted July 17, 2005 I have a B1 Allis with a briggs L-head. It is the original motor. Has been rebuilt at least 1 time, has .010 piston in it. Now nobody has a ring kit for it. Anybody have any ideas where i can find a set? I really don't want to put a different motor in it. It is only a 7 hp, but it has unbelievable torque. Thanks,Paul
Chris727 1,934 Posted July 17, 2005 Hello. Most likely the people you are dealing with are not familiar with or don't want to be bothered with the engines which came before briggs current 6 digit model numbering system. You can't even look up the parts for them on the briggs website. If your engine is a model 19 or 19D you shouldn't have a problem getting rings. It uses the same rings as my model 23D which I was going to rebuild. Rings are available for it in standard and all oversizes. The main thing you will need is a way to look up parts yourself. I got a parts list for my model 23 from clubmember "BLT" He may be able to email you a manual. Hope this helps. Chris
ehertzfeld 1 Posted July 17, 2005 Paul, there is a member of this club, who is a Simplicity dealer, he will be able to help you out. You can order the parst right from him, or just get the part numbers. His user name is "Al". Oh, and welcome to the club! :) Elon

Chris727 1,934 Posted July 18, 2005 I've never had any luck finding anything at Jacks's site. Try www3.sears.com. Look up the part number 292101 and it comes up as available, they give you several results, go with the one listed under lawn and garden. I would assume this means its still a current briggs part. They still have all the parts I need to rebuild my model 23D.
