Hoop2 0 Posted July 18, 2005 I have a Broadmoor with a 15 horse Briggs engine that has locked up. The machine is a late 90's. Can it be replaced with a Honda engine and will everything hook up without any alternations?
Ronald Hribar 91 Posted July 18, 2005 You will have better luck posting under tractor discussions. I think the answer to your question will be "Depends on What Honda motor you will use."
papamerkle 0 Posted July 18, 2005 It would be cheaper and easier in the long run to put a Briggs motor back in. You may get by with a short block. Do you know why the motor locked up? How many hours on the motor?
RayS 79 Posted July 18, 2005 Here`s a good place to look for a replacement engine http://smallenginewarehouse.com/. They have good prices and may have the same Briggs that you need.
BLT 717 Posted July 18, 2005 Before you swap engine, take off starter. Locked up Briggs' engines are at times, a jambed starter gear into ring and it has all of the appearances of a tight engine..
Al 6 Posted July 18, 2005 HI, I might be able to help you with the Honda. I know I can with a Kohler. Call me at 1-800-462-2218, and we can talk about it . Al Eden
dlcentral 1 Posted July 20, 2005 If its not something simple like jambed starter, pushrod came off, etc. they are usually junk, inside,,they hand-grenade so nicely!,they are much more sensitive to overheating,or low oil, than the old motors, unlike an ol cast iron tr-ow a rod in it,wipe off crank, go another 25 yrs!,,
