dirtsaver Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 [:0]Sam it just aint natchural:(. The AC gods are gonna throw lightnin bolts across Illinois one of these days, mark my words! On the other handB)....that just might be the trick for keeping dry feet pushing snow. Maybe I'll have to see what I can do with the boards from a 7000 or 7100 frame I have sitting around back rotting away. I have to say the boys did a good job. They do look factory.
SmilinSam Posted July 23, 2005 Author Posted July 23, 2005 quote:Originally posted by dirtsaver They do look factory. Whaddaya mean LOOK ? They are factory. AC made them for the B-210/212 frames which they continued to build through 1973 as the base for the Homelite T Series they built. To use the Footplates he ( my son)also had to use the steering shaft, bracket and rod that came with the homelite tractor the foot plates came off of.
Kent Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Nicely done... though I'm no fan of running boards! :D
dirtsaver Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 Brain fart again Sam. I should have said they look like factory in the yellow paint! LOL.
D-17_Dave Posted July 23, 2005 Posted July 23, 2005 The boys done good Sam. I think they look that nice because of the solid bourds instead of the perforated ones likes on all the later models.
samson Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Beautiful job! Where did you get that white front power take off protector?
JoeJ Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 Very nice Sam..... And as Levi said, might we have a bit more on that hitch???
SmilinSam Posted July 24, 2005 Author Posted July 24, 2005 I'll have the camera out again Wednesday , so Ill get some pics of it then.
JR Posted July 24, 2005 Posted July 24, 2005 The running boards look cool, but I'd really like to see more on that hitch too. Looks like a homemade three-point of some sort. Yep, gotta see some pics!
HubbardRA Posted July 26, 2005 Posted July 26, 2005 The boys did great. I think the running boards give that tractor a very clean look. Nice job on the whole tractor.
dhardin Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 I feel if you are not going to have a deck under a FDT theres nothing wrong with a set of running boards. Saftey first I say...
SmilinSam Posted August 7, 2005 Author Posted August 7, 2005 This is the boys engineering. All he did was use the frame uprights that bolt to the tranny and hold up the seat deck from another tractor for lowr hitch arms and made a shaft to fit into the rear lift sockets that the lift rod pins to and the side links attach to to raise the lower arms. I dont know what he is planning on using it with, but I'm sure he has ideas. Kids seem to use their minds more when you let them do things themselves and work it all out without stepping in.
