I see a Montgomery Ward sickle bar mower coming up in an auction. That's all the info give. If this was for a riding mower, would it possibly fit my Big Ten? If this is possible, what parts should I be sure are included so I don't end up with something I can't mount or run? Thanks for the help!

John, Montgomery Ward tractors were made by several different manufacturers. I have a 1961 Wards Squire that was made by Simplicity. A sickle bar that would fit my tractor would also fit directly on your Big Ten. My 61 Wards is a Simplicity 700 with different emblems on the hood, otherwise the Wards and Simplicity are identical. If the mount on the sickle bar has the brackets to attach to the front axle like most Simplicity and AC attachments, then it should fit fine. Here is a picture of one. Note the mounting bracket on left side top of the picture. It is painted black.
