Ronald Hribar 91 Posted August 4, 2005 On EBay there is a 7000 series tractor for sale. Ad states that vit has foot control but hand control handle is available. This is the first I heard about this on the sovereign type tractor. Is there a kit available?
stevenj 4 Posted August 4, 2005 I e-mailed the guy to get specifics. Basically he modified the hand shifter by removing it and added a toe & heel foot control that is positioned above the running board with the cross shaft going through the side of the frame tunnel. I didn;t get any pictures showing the linkage in the tunnel area. I'd estimate that the surface of the foot pedal where you rest your boot is on the same plane/height as the bottom of the RH lift lever bracket and slightly above the pivot for the brake/clutch pedal. It is located directly under the hand control and the plane of the pedal is parallel to the running board. Due to the height of the pedal, I think the right leg would begin to cramp having to hold it up higher (at least for those of us that are tall).
dirtsaver 1 Posted August 4, 2005 Steve you've answered a question I've been running over for a year or better. I was thinking of adapting a Kubota foot control to my 17GTH for my wife since she loves the foot controlled hydro. Looks like I'll either have to scrap that idea or figure a way to ease leg strain. MPH 12 Posted August 4, 2005 think it should be installed flush with the running board inorder to do away with the leg cramps. I ran an Almond loader/backhoe last summer fo several hours one day and could hardly walk when I got done..bad deal
