firefoxz1 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I bid on this tractor but did not reach the reserve. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7705033938 How much would you or should I go to? I does look all original and has the two piece deck. This maybe the 725 that finds my house.
Mick14 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 I bought one like this from a member in June, with out the mower deck ,but with the rear weight for $300. ,I've used it alot and feel i got a great deal on it.
John_RI Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Looks pretty nice. I got one like this about 5 years ago for about $100 and love it for mowing. I'd be happy paying $300 if it's as good as it looks! John
ReedS Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Aside from the obvious rear fenders being bent and the seat cover being torn this 725 appears to be relatively complete and in running(?) condition. Hard to tell it's true condition without physically touching and seeing it. e-Bay is an unusual and fickle place whereas something like this may go for $100-200 at a yard sale where the seller is unware that there is a demand for these old beauties, on e-bay where the seller tends to be more aware of an items potential value and/or scarcity the price for this tractor may be somewhat higher. There was one of these in slightly better condition that not to long ago that went for $600 with a couple more attachments. I personally don't like to spend more than a $100 for a non-running tractor unless there's a good reason to and in a case of a running complete like this one $300 isn't unreasonable, rememeber you have to play the bidding game and possibly angainst others as well. You never know if someone will be willing to pay more than is really reasonable........
firefoxz1 Posted August 5, 2005 Author Posted August 5, 2005 Thanks, that's 3 saying $300. While it's close enough for me to pick up on a day trip it is not close enough to go check out it's true running condition. I may keep scouting the local sale papers as I'm busy with projects right now anyway.
