chambersc 0 Posted August 12, 2005 Does anyone know of or has anyone any information about the Montgomery Ward hydrostatic 14 garden tractor, and when it was built? Under the hood it says on a sticker: patent pending and calls it the new Squire Tractor. Model # GIL33048C. Serial # 17X51513. Engine is a Briggs and Stratton # 320424-0122-01-7010201. It is Synchro-Balanced and has a starter/generator combined. Also am looking for the owners guide for same. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks, Troy
mbrook 0 Posted August 12, 2005 Based on the serial number starting with "GIL" it would be made by Gilson. There are a couple of "Gilson" groups on Yahoo that you might want to check out. As for the Briggs, the model # indicates that it is a 32 cubic inch displacement, which could be a 14,15 or 16 hp to my knowledge. The code indicates that it was built 10/20/1970. You can get the briggs manual online at the Briggs and Stratton site. Hope this helps and good luck finding what you need.
