oldone 0 Posted August 12, 2005 On my Homelite T13, when I try to start it. the fluid in the battery seems to boil out of it. the battery tests good with a tester. Anyone have clues? John
Mick14 0 Posted August 12, 2005 Sounds like the voltage regulator.
HubbardRA 19 Posted August 12, 2005 Fluid level in battery? Too much current being pulled by the starter? Try switching the S-G from another tractor to it. That will tell you if it is in the S-G. I would also check the wiring for shorts. A short between the solenoid and the S-G will only show up when you hit the starter.
D-17_Dave 12 Posted August 12, 2005 Sounds as if you have a shorted cell in the bat. I would first ?? the method your useing to test it. A good bat. load test should be applied on the bat for at least 10 secounds. Also a bat. tester should easily put more load on the bat. than the starter unless your starter is shorted. In that case youd be haveing starter problems also.
Al 6 Posted August 13, 2005 Hi, Sounds like a bad battery to me. Have it load checked and see if it boils on the load ck. Wear safety glasses because if it is boiling if may have plates with a fractured connection and this can cause the battery to explode and blow case and acid all over you. Been there. oldone 0 Posted August 14, 2005 The battery must have a bad cell in it. when I put the charger on it, it boils the fluid out also. time for a new battery!
Ronald Hribar 90 Posted August 14, 2005 Check if the polarity of the battery has changed. That is is the negative post still negative? I have seen a battery that was dead and charger hooked up wrong and had the same problems as above
