Sovereign Reversed Lift Directions

Today I changed my rear lift cable over to the 38" HD Tiller configuration. I also modified the mower deck lift. Now both the rear implements and the mower deck raise when the hydraulic lever is pushed forward and lower when the lever is pulled back. I'm a happy camper. :D:D Have cussed the stock setup ever since I got the tractor. Now the lift works like I think it should have originally. The lift lever action now matches the icons on the dash.

Is there any difference in the total amount of lift at the rear lift bracket when you changed to the 38" tiller position?

No, if anything it may have a little more travel. I did lose some travel on the mower deck lift but it has enough to work OK.

Roy, Any way that you could post pictures of your new configuration? I'd like to do that to mine also, if I find the rockshaft that I need.

Id like to see that myself. I don't have any cable lift tractors, but it would be neat to see how you did it. Elon

Rod & Elon, Regarding reversing direction of the rear lift, check out the posts listed below. Note that if you do not have the newer lift shaft you will need the adapter from the P.N. 1690404 rear lift kit. Also note that I had to bend one hydraulic line slightly to clear the clevis pin where it hooks to the lift shaft. http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=42000 http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30935 http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16596 To reverse direction for the mower lift I unhooked and tie wrapped the existing lift cable out of the way. Then made a new lift cable from chain, a couple of home made links, and a screw-together chain link. The photos are poor but should give you the idea.

Hope this helps,
