lpcb10 0 Posted August 18, 2005 I have a Simplicity deck for my B-10. (unknown model) When I adjust deck to 3" cutting the deck hits the PTO when I try to lift the deck.
lpcb10 0 Posted August 18, 2005 Sorry guys did not finish the topic. Is the model # for the deck engraved on the deck? I an afraid the deck does not really fit my tractor.
Kent 435 Posted August 18, 2005 No, the model # for the deck isn't engraved on the deck. The model numbers were usually affixed in one of two ways: (1) A sticker/decal that likely has long since fallen off ;) (2) Painted on, using a stencil, and frequently has been painted over at some point or obscured by rust
firefoxz1 4 Posted August 18, 2005 A little more info. Adjusting cutting height should not affect the lifting height, the cutting height is adjusted with the rollers and the lift by the chain. I would say go down one link on the chain so it doesn't lift so high or move the stop pin on the lift arm so you can't move that so far. At three inches your rollers might still rub the ground a little (more on the left) but not with the whole weight of the deck. I have remedied this situation by putting heavier springs on the adjusting rod so the roller assy does not sack so much when lifted.
