briggs engine specs

I am working on rebuild of my 19D now but since I am a complete novice on Briggs motors I don't know anything about clearances for valves, piston rod bearing, end play, etc. Torque pounds for various bolts are also needed. Did anyone ever have a assembly manual for Briggs motors? I have a 23D that is my next project. The 19D is in a B-1 and the 23D is in a B-10. The B-1 is my mowing tractor and general wagon hauler and the B-10 is giong to be my tiller and snowplow. Thanks everbody and happy tractoring! Paul S.

May I suggest getting a B/S Repairman's Handbook for out of production engines (1919 - 1981, cast iron Models A's-ZZ's,5's-320000's. Aluminun Models 6B's,8B's and 60000's-253400's), It covers everything including specs, torques and whatever else you may need. B/S part number CE8069. Available thru B/S,M and D small engine, and your local B/S dealer should be able to order one. Average cost $25 plus shipping. Check out e-bay also. I know I wouldn't be without mine and it would take a while to copy the info for anyone on just one engine.
