300 400 AC Tiller Questions?

I just got a Simplicity tiller set up for the AC300. Appears to be a band of metal around end to increase diameter. I also got the rear lift bracket for the same. Should I chisel off the band? Does AC rear lift mount on Simplicity?

I believe there should be a set screw or two in it? If you get it off in one piece sent it to me. This would be the left collar on the lift so you could just turn it around if you do not need it.

The 300 and 400 series rear lift had a 1 1/8" lift shaft diameter on the tiller.It looks like they took a 1 inch ID tube heated it and drove it on the tiller. I want to know if anyone has taken one off before and how they did it. The rear lift is for a 1 1/8 shaft not a 1 inch for simplicity. This was one of the differences to settle the anti trust action. Otherwise, is anyone interested in the tiller lift bracket unmodified for their 300/400 series AC?
