Jovee 0 Posted September 9, 2005 A friend picked up a carb kit today for me and handed me a few brochures for Snapper products. On the back it said a product of Simplicity MFG. When did that happen? I dont know how I would have missed something like that but I did. I get confused over who owns who anymore - Joe

Jovee 0 Posted September 10, 2005 Thanks guys - I did read here about B/S buying out Simplicity this year. I only joined in january so all other buyouts and takeovers proir were all word of mouth. Toro and Troybilt merged and then got sucked up by MTD, yes? No? Unfortunate on the CUbs and Bolens too. I know the Murray story. Things like Yardman and the box stores, Sears/Roper/AYP but what happened to the big companies like Gravely, Wheelhorse, New Holland, Massey-Fergusons and the like? Are they still around? What was the real story on the small Ford tractors? Being far away from agricultural life here in the big city kinda keeps me out of the loop on some things -
RayS 79 Posted September 10, 2005 Troybilt is part of MTD, but Toro is not. Wheelhorse is owned by Toro. Agco owns Massey and Simplicity makes their lawn equipment. If I am not mistaken Ariens owns Gravely. Cubs maybe popular to collectors but they never really did a good job of mowing im opinion.
