GWGAllisfan 159 Posted September 24, 2005 I installed an engine with a starter solenoid in a probably 64 landlord. I was wondering, if this wil clear the hood, could I adapt to a key switch that does everything and dispose of the button? I have to buy a new switch anyway, since the old one is broken. I have the wiring diagram, just wondering if there were any potential pitfalls to avoid. Right now I have no battery so I'm rope starting it and shutting it off by grounding a bare wire on the frame, But that's a bit much for my wife or kids to master. JJ MARSHALL 0 Posted September 24, 2005 RANDY what engine are you installing in the landlord? JJ
GWGAllisfan 159 Posted September 24, 2005 it's a 10 HP briggs 243131. It has a starter generator, but uses a solenoid instead of a starter button. I just though if I bought a switch like used on newer tractors I could have it start with a key.
