Al 6 Posted September 25, 2005 We just ordered a new replacement engine for a Broadmore vertical shaft V twin Vangard. We got the engine with a nice shiny red blower housing. Dropped it in and put the tractor hood on. The hood lacked about 3 1/2 inches of closing at the back. The New Vangards have a new blower and blower housing on them and the blower housing projects about an inch further from the block. We called Briggs about removing the Enhanced Cooling blower and housing and using the original. They strongly opposed it. We reworked the tractor plenum and are working with Simplicity regarding a solution. It appears that the driveshaft adaptor pieces we used on the Original Vangards is not compatible with the new Enhanced Cooling engines. What I am saying is these "replacement" engines are not exact replacements and depending on the application may or may not bring problems. Al Eden
