a7117puller 0 Posted October 1, 2005 what series has a long enough hood to enclose a small block chevy v8 in?:D
D-17_Dave 12 Posted October 1, 2005 Only thing I can think of is to stretch the frame and hood by putting 2 tractors together. Sounds as if your going for a power record for unlimited pulling.
Joer 0 Posted October 2, 2005 Go with the big block!! You just ain't gonna hide them 4 plugs & wires hanging out the sides. PLUS they sound so sweet with open pipes. ILLEGAL HE&%. Tell 'em its a stock repower kit from AL Eden.
MikeES 454 Posted October 2, 2005 Adam, build a complete frame from the ground up and add the 900/7100 series hood to it or the 620/720/Powermax hood. You will be cheaper in the long. I have rules from most pulling clubs from around the midwest, and no club that I know of will allow you to pull with a V8 stuck in a standard garden tractor frame, even if it is reinforced. Most automotive engine pullers have close to an 8ft. wheel base.
Scott Salmons 7 Posted October 2, 2005 A friend of mine had a brother that used a hood and rear fenders from a 620 to build a tractor using an aluminum olds v-8. He fabricated his own frame and used a narrow front. It was an awesome looking piece.
