Pitabu 0 Posted October 4, 2005 Can anyone tell me the sizes of the blades on a 32" deck? Also, since we're on the subject, I've tried to increase mower height using the deck manual, but it still seems to mow awfully short-any suggestions? Could my rollers be worn out from 41 years of mowing? Where would I find replacements? Thanks!! Sean
Paul Morrissey 0 Posted October 5, 2005 Simp part # 108297 11 1/2" from point to point and 2 3/8" wide. Origionals have a 2 3/8" hole in the center with two 3/8" bolt holes 3" center to center. The mower cutting too short is caused from worn rollers and probably incorrect front to back height adjustment. With the blades facing front to back in line with the tractor, the front blade should be 3/8" higher than the back (measured on cement) Good luck Paul
KVANDY12 0 Posted October 5, 2005 Paul your roller could be wore a good bit, but so is the steel rod they are mounted on you'll more than likely have to replace it also. Thats what I had to do on my 48" mower.
mmischni 0 Posted October 18, 2005 I had a similar "complaint" about my Broadmoor, especially since I have been cutting my lawn at 3.5" I am sure the rollers are worn on mine, but I still was getting a max height of only 2.5". I actually took off the spindles, shortened the spindle housings and spindles by 1 inch, and put everything back together. Not a simple task and it does require a lathe, but I got my target height and it is pretty stealthy. Plus I got to change bearings while I was in there. As for what height to cut at, I am sure that could be an entire discussion of its own! Matt
