msiebern 0 Posted October 5, 2005 Saw this critter on ebay and remembered that someone in here was tinkering with a forklift conversion. Was wondering if there was any progress or whether it got dumped. At the price they are asking it might be worth the effort to finish the project. http://cgi.ebay.com/1967-Sears-Suburban-12-Fork-Lift-Forklift-Conversion_W0QQitemZ7716886987QQcategoryZ50377QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
D-17_Dave 12 Posted October 5, 2005 Kind of looks as if someone copied a forklift convertion of a farm tractor w/ a mast from an old small forklift. It doesn't impress me with the blacksmith style levers and seat. The price doesn't excite me either.
lboy1971 0 Posted October 5, 2005 It sure has a steep price tag. Looks like it would be a useful piece of equipment to have around though. Anyone hear of a Simplicity/Allis forklift attachment getting sold on the open market lately? What are they going for?
orangeone 0 Posted October 5, 2005 Better be a long arm sucker to work those levers.
comet66 0 Posted October 6, 2005 I've had a couple of dealings with this guy, found him to be a real gentleman. He has it marked "Best Offer" I think it's pretty cool, Too bad it's not a simp.
msiebern 0 Posted October 6, 2005 It is also marked as prototype, and anyone who has worked around a prototype shop knows the first ones are not beauty queens, but a test of form and function. I mainly posted it because I thought it had some interesting concepts that just needed tweaking and might light the imaginations of some crafty people in here. The $3000 buy it now was a little of a shocker, but as you pointed out, it was also best offer. For the $3000, I could buy your loader tractor and still have play money left :) quote:Originally posted by comet66 I've had a couple of dealings with this guy, found him to be a real gentleman.
