Kohler engine problem

I have a 14hp in a 900 series tractor. I have used it a few times cutting the grass. It idles fine but when you run the tractor for about 5 minutes, it starts to cut out. Then I pull the choke out and it will run close to normal. If I push the choke back in the engine dies. Thanks for any help!

Yes I have adjusted the needle valve. The tractor runs great wide open for about 5 minutes and then dies unless I pull the choke.

Could be an airleak. Check the carb base gasket and make sure carb nuts are tight. Mike

Make sure your fuel tank cap is vented.

Also check to make sure nothing is obstructed in the fuel line/tank. Check the fuel filter and tank screen if you tractor has them. Also try runninng the tractor with the fuel cap loose and see if that helps.
