2burning 1 Posted November 3, 2005 What ideas do people have for tightening up choke cables that keep vibrating partially on? This would be a 716H with Kohler push-pull type cable. I have tighened others up by squashing the clamp down tighter on junk machine (Dynamark) but would like to see if there are better ideas. I probably caused it myself by lubricating the cable up with oil. Doh!
RayS 79 Posted November 3, 2005 Flatten or crimp the conduit a little where the wire comes out so that there is a little friction on the wire when you open or close the choke. That should solve the problem. Is the conduit clamped down tight so that it isn`t moving under the clamp?
2burning 1 Posted November 4, 2005 Yes, the clamp is secure. I will just go ahead and crimp it down a little to tighten it up then. While trying to set the carb mixture screws, I thought I was going crazy becasue the it kept moving all around on me. Thanks RayS.
