I bought on ebay the tractor has been used alot but has been well cared for as soon as I can figure out why I can't veiw pictures from my digital camera on my computer i'll post some pictures. my question is if I have a major problem with the engine it starts and runs fine and dosn't knock but I drained the oil and it has a metalic glow to it. its a twin cylinder 16 horse briggs model 42707
Morris 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Do you mean the oil has a sheen to it? Making it look sort of metallic in appearance? If so, two possibilities: First, someone may have added some type of additive to the oil, changing the color somewhat. Second, at some point motor may have overheated and this might have cause the discoloration. Smell the oil, too, if you still have it, and see if it smells like gas mixed in. Sometimes fuel will seep through carb and settle slowly past the rings in cylinder and wind up in crankcase, but the oil will be diluted if so. And of course, it might just be an inferior oil (recycled, perhaps) that has lost its viscosity. After you have run it some change it again and compare them...but be sure you use a good quality oil. As for your pics...I couldn't find mine on my computer for the longest time, but discovered my computer read the camera not as a picture device but as a separate drive, like a removable storage device. I was looking for them in the wrong place. Some camera storage devices function exactly as a disk drive or extra memory, and the computer reads it as such. When you try to look for them look under "my computer" and look to see if there is a drive E showing up there, chances are that will be it.
