Mystery plug and fuse

Recommended Posts

Simpleton7016
My lawn tractor is a 1975 Simplicity 7016/ Allis Chalmers 716H: There is a plug and fuse on the right hand side of the tractor. The plug says 15amp 125 volt on it. I have no idea what these are. I looked in the operators manual as well as in the parts manual and can not find them. Can anyone help out? I will try to post pictures but can e-mail them if any needs visual help. Thanks in advance, Erik

Hello, Welcome to the club! Without seeing a picture here's my guess. The previous owner used this for a pull behind sprayer. My tractor has the same thing on the back. I have a switch on the dash for it. How about you? Just my two cents!

Tghis sounds like the main fuse for the electrical system. 15 amps is common for the amount of load this system pulls. I don't know for sure but I belive these tractors had a circut breaker under the dash orriginally. But unless something has been added aftermarket for an additional accesory like the sprayer mentioned above, then it's acceptable. Can you see what it goes to? this may give a big clue as to what it's for.

Thanks guys, I pulled the battery and the wires were coiled up and taped. One red and one black, presumably to be attached to the terminal posts. Anyway, they are not being used for anything right now and I will probably leave it that way! :) Other than a sprayer, are there any other accessories i could run through this...at least that you are aware of? Thanks already! Wow you are fast! Erik
