downhill runaway cured by new hydro fluid

Recommended Posts

I have seen a number of posts regarding hydro tractors that speed up downhill and I had a similar problem which linkage adjustment and other suggestions I have read couldn't fix. I just finished changing the hydro and differential fluids on a recently purchased Deutz-Allis 616H (thanks to help from this forum). I was surprised that it completely cured the problem I had been having with this tractor speeding up downhill. The transmission is also a lot more responsive than before. Perhaps the old fluid was too thin to allow the pump to maintain enough pressure on slopes.

What viscosity did you use? My CASE has a bad case of the trots.
