Sovereign Steering Shaft Bushing Lube

Recommended Posts

Guest
Has anyone tried to supply grease to the steering shaft bushing located between the dash and the top of the frame, just above the steering pinion gear. I am thinking of removing the steering shaft, drill thru the casting & bushing & tap a hole on the right-hand side of the casting for an 18" long grease gun hose running up under the battery and attaching a grease fitting bracket to the outboard battery hold down screw.

Excellent idea in my opinion. When I redo my tractors, I will do exactly what you are suggesting as I think that is a little short fall of Simplicity tractors. Keep us informed as to how it goes.
