lboy1971 0 Posted December 4, 2005 I just picked up a B12 with the hi-lo option. It's missing the 2 pieces that push and pull on the hub for changing from hi to lo. Anyone know if these are still available new from Simplicity?
RayS 79 Posted December 4, 2005 If you have the part numbers you can check here. http://www.jackssmallengines.com/
gregc 3 Posted December 4, 2005 The pivots should still be available. They are part #157353. The pivot bearings are NLA. You will probably have to get some round stock and make your own. See this topic: http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21209 You can order different kinds of round stock here: http://www.onlinemetals.com/
lboy1971 0 Posted December 5, 2005 Hi, thanks for the links. The pivots are $18.28 now a piece while the pivot bushing is no longer available. The link you posted was very informative, Thanks for taking the time to post it for me.
lboy1971 0 Posted December 5, 2005 I was thinking about those pivot parts today and it hit me. I've seen them somewhere before. About 4 years ago I bought a small box of NOS Simplicity parts off ebay. There was 1 bevel gear box gear and a bunch of belt guides. I dug the box out and to my surprise there were a pair of new metal pivots AND a pair of new pivot bushings, all unopened. Lucked out on that one. Before I instal them I'm going to turn out a couple more of the pivots on my lathe, if I can get it to work.
TomSchmit 53 Posted December 8, 2005 In the old topic that Greg refers to above, PatRarick says that he modified a Broadmoor hi-lo unit to fit a large fram tractor. The Broadmoor units seem to be more available, and I hope Pat will share what he did to make this work. The "pivot" on Broadmoor unit unit appears to be all one plastic piece(rather than a bushing in a metal holder). I believe that this part (#156261) is also NLA. Has anyone made these or have NOS avaiable - I need some! TomSchmit in Milwaukee
