GWGAllisfan Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I bought this today, don't know if it runs yet, but for the price I couldn't keep it from following me home;) Supposedly it was from an MTD. it has a unique governor linkage and pulleys on both sides.
MDB Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Nice find^, brought a 16hp home last winter that had that strange governor linkage on it.
ehertzfeld Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 well if it dosn't run at least it's got a lot of good parts. Elon
MPH Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Any ole cast iron Briggs follows me home. Nice score.
GWGAllisfan Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 that's what I was thinking, too. A carb and a S/G was enough to make it a good idea. I'm not sure the wife would agree, but as long as it stays under the porch, I won't have to.
Nick Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I think that engine would have followed me home too.
bigcountry Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 IIRC, the other pulley was to either run a hydro pump or you could reverse the S/G and use it like that if you needed to. The Kohlers in the Cubs are like that too, but the ones in John Deeres are not.
