Transmission fluid do you check this when it is cold or when it is at operating temprature?

operators manual notes it drains best when warm, but does not mention when you check it

Ussually cold. However, the amount of oil contained in the rear end takes care of any measurable diff. that heat exspantion might cause. IMO.
