House attached garage fire in our district about 50 days ago. In the remains of the garage were these mowers. House was totaled. If you look REAL CLOSE on the last one...our treas. MDB is running the pumper. Also the engine is an RBE (running board engine) No Foot draggers for our dept. LOL

Ice storm here last night and today. Spent most of the day running calls and clearing roads. Anytime is a bad time for fires like that. Worst we seem to have had today was a power line down whitch jumped hot under a car. Car was toasted and garage it was parked next to got a little singed. It wasn't my dept. but here in my county.

Monday night a huge old colonial about 3 blocks away burned, along with the 83 year old owner. Sadly, they'd been visiting him that morning trying to get him to agree to go into a nursing home... He was a smoker, and they think it was started by a cigarette...

A small ranch up the road from me was gutted last night. It was a young couple with two young boys. Not sure how it started or if everyone made it out ok, but I'm hoping so. Too dam close to Christmas for that to happen. Elon

Living in small communities as many of us do. It is only by the grace of you selfless volunteers that we are protected from many more tragedies than we now have. Thanks to you all!!!

I agree, that is why when I choose to make monetary donations, I make them to my local VFD, because they are the ones that will help me in my time of need. JH

My neices friend (12YO) just parished in a home fire last weekend. What upsets my neice the most is the girl was going to spent that night at my brothers but didn't feel the best so stayed home. <<NO WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS>>

Saw that one on a fire news site I visit periodicaly, If any one is interested the article is here, http://1strespondernews.com/webpages/news/DisplayNews.aspx?PT=state&state=MA&ID=26084f5b-3ea8-4d3a-8cb9-e9751cc6dd95 I just got back from a house fire 15 minutes ago. It's the third one I went to in two weeks. I don't know in other areas but we seem to go to more fires in the winter then we do the rest of the year.
