briggs oil pan help!

I'm putting a motor in a landlord and holy cow! the oil drain and filler plugs are on the wrong side. the motors #is 233431 0020- 01 7112091 can I just turn the oil pan around thanks?

You can rotate the oil pan 180 degrees on the 12 and 16 HP Briggs singles. I wouldn't see why you couldn't on yours. I'm sure someone here has done it and will confirm.

either way and rtv sealant, havent had one leak/seep since ive been rtv the pan/block. just trim excess with razor blade or take a rag and clean it.

I have had to turn the oil pan on the last four engine that I have bought. A 10HP, a 12HP and two 16HPs. Usually make my own gaskets from bulk gasket material.

I have done the same thing. Not a problem unless you have already filled the pan with oil. On every other briggs I have seen in this era they have the pan the other way but all the ones in the tractors are turned around.
