Quality seat time

Finally got in some quality seat time plowing the 3" I got New Years eve. It was a great way to bring in the New Year. I took pictures but can't seem to find my cable to upload to the PC. OK, a question: What height do you adjust your shoes at? I have a blacktop drive and have the shoes adjusted at about 1/8" which seems to have left a little more snow than I would like to. I know some that don't use the shoes on pavement so whats your thought on that? I have tried it but the plow seems to vibrate across the pavement. I also found that this snow didn't slide off the plow very well when plowing at an angle (time for fresh paint and a wax job I quess). Good thing is the wheel weights and ATV tires did there job as I had plenty of traction, It also seem that the weights helped with the limited slip action of the rear? did more rotating mass to spin help keep one wheel from spinning quicker? I think so because when I did spin it was both wheels.

Here on the R.I. coast,we didn't get enough snow to even bother with, but i did take out the 725 with the new shoes on the blade {courtesy of RayS. ],,the manual says to plow pavement with out the shoes, but i noticed that it was a lot quieter with them, though a thin coating of snow was left behind, sure beats shoveling !

I always wondered if you mounted some sort of rubber edge on the blade scraper bar if it would help reduce the chatter/bouncing of the blade..I have heard that John Deere has a squeegy to mount onto their blades..Not sure if one could bolt onto a Simplicity blade or not though..

As I recall, Dutch had a strip of conveyor belt on one so as not to scrape up his daughter's new cement. Said it worked real well.
