roma3112 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Folks While online shopping for a compact tractor I ran across an advertisement for a "1972 7112" simplicity. I reasearched the tractor here and as near as i can find out in 1972 simplicity was making the 34xxx series. The guy has it in for a verry resonable price and i was thinking of picking it up .What approximate year were the 7112's made and did they come with sunstrand trannys, and briggs engines? Supposedly the tractor runs and it has a 12.5 hp engine. The gentlemen is going to try and find a pic to send me but in the meantime i figured i would ask here. RayS 79 Posted January 1, 2006 They started making them either in 78 or 79. My 917H was made in 1979 according to my operators manual.
gregc 3 Posted January 1, 2006 First ones were model year 79/80. All had Kohler K301S engines. If it's hydrostatic it's a Sunstrand. One model had a 6 speed tranny.
roma3112 0 Posted January 1, 2006 Ray/greg thanks for the info. Are there any quirks to this particular type of engine? I was really hoping for a spare 12hp cast iron briggs for my 3112h but i cant be picky. Does this engine have a s/g. take care and happy new year to all !! john
RayS 79 Posted January 1, 2006 If it is the original Kohler engine it does not have a starter generator on it.
