Shuttle trans. on B series?

Hi all, having a problem with the 3 speed trans on my "frankenstein" 700/B series, when in gear it started making a high-pitched squeal when i let the clutch out and something seems to be binding. so...to get to my question, could I convert it to shuttle which i have from a 3414 parts tractor with a bad bgb?(have all the linkages and lever parts)or do I spend the money rebuilding the old trans? the shuttle looks to be much heavier construction. i actually thought this would be kinda cool, but i'm just looking for opinions from the group as they are highly valued! so what would you do? thanks in advance, Jeff

If the 3414 is a complete tractor, I'd fix the BGB in it, take off them goofy running boards, then tear down the 700 tranny and find the cause of the squeal, then have 2 tractors.

Shuttles will fit right up to the variable speed tractors like the B112 or the B210. I think you can use the variable speed control lever hole for the shuttle control lever. If your tractor is an older B or like the 700 simplicity, you would have alot of fabricating to do and then the length of the tractor would be longer and your seat deck would no longer fit.
